Take whatever roads you wish, along the way you encounter challenges which introduce you to factions. In the map you would see where Denver is highlighted along with your own location. For example, you would be given generally goals the bring you to other areas.įor example, a quest might just ask you to travel to Denver or Dog City in the lore’s context. Then these main goals allow you to progress around the wasteland in unique ways, supporting open world design. Each of these roles would give you different faction statuses, starting items and a first main goal. Ideally, you can choose and intro like a Tribal Raider, Rich Brahmin Baron, Caravan Guard and various roles from the factions that would be in the game such as Legion Remnant, Follower of the Apocalypse Scientist or member of the Khan’s empire. Even New Vegas’ courier is a bit railroad-y. I find that this can railroad you into a specific role. What I mean by this is that you are not given a role like Soul Survivor, Lone Wanderer, etc. My idea was to have a story be discovered by the player as they progress similar to New Vegas’ story but borrow elements from the first two games. I had an idea for a Colorado based story with all the factions laid out. r/galaxynewsradio - Fallout-sounding musicĪny story ideas for Fallout 5, something that would play into the themes of the previous games but be inventive in its own way?
